Job Description
LearnAfrica operates a structured digital learning platform delivering
curriculum-aligned educational content produced in-house. We are seeking
a Platform Engineer- Support Lead to provide hands-on technical
support for the platform
while assisting with content upload oversight and system stability.
This role is technical and execution-focused. The successful candidate
will work directly with the platform’s codebase and systems to fix issues,
support content workflows, and maintain platform reliability. Final
approval, platform direction, and decision-making remain with management.
Job Responsibility
- Work directly with the existing
platform codebase to:
- debug issues
- fix errors
- maintain platform stability
- Resolve frontend and backend issues
affecting:
- content visibility
- learner access
- platform behavior
- Investigate and fix bugs related
to:
- publishing logic
- permissions and access control
- data display and user flows
- Support platform updates and
improvements as assigned
- Work with version control systems
and follow controlled deployment processes
- Escalate complex architectural
issues to senior engineering teams when required
Digital Academy
Support Responsibilities
- Oversee technical correctness of
content uploads before management approval
- Ensure courses, lessons, and
materials display and function correctly
- Support content administrators by
resolving technical upload or display issues
- Maintain correct course and lesson
structure at system level
- Perform functional testing from a
learner’s perspective
Reporting &
Coordination
- Report technical issues, fixes,
and risks clearly to the Digital Academy Lead
- Document changes and recurring
issues
- Follow defined approval, access,
and escalation processes
Required
Technical Skills (Non-Negotiable)
- Strong proficiency in the
platform’s current technologies (frontend &
backend)
- Ability to read, debug, and
modify existing production code
- Solid experience with:
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- React.js / Next.js (or
equivalent frontend framework)
- Node.js / Express or Laravel (as
applicable)
- Database understanding (MySQL /
PostgreSQL / MongoDB)
- REST API troubleshooting
experience
- Git version control (pull, push,
resolve conflicts)
- Understanding of roles,
permissions, and access control logic
